Review : Mickey’s Typing Adventure

Pros:
  1. The characters are famous Disneys Characters
  2. With certified Educational Design, the game has funny themes and amazing challenges.
  3. The game comes with customizable typing courses.
  4. Excellent tech support.
Cons:
  1. Does not work well with Windows 7. ( Update:Fixed now)
  2. Completetion of the game goes by quikly.

Mickey’s Typing Adventure is an educational game where you can learn typing while playing.


The Pyramid of  Peril

Players find themselves in a City called Typelandia, where they have to rescue Mickey and his friends from an enchantment cast through a spell. They have to make their way to the palace while they learn how to type. Along the way they have to free characters from the mysterious enchantment. 

The characters are famous Disney’s Characters.  The kids learn to type as they lead the main character on the way to the palace. The courses are well studied and well elaborated to fit the age ranges. The animations are very exciting and, the scenes are delightful and the scripts are so funny. 

The kids are motivated to go to the end since they have and enchantment to fight and a spell to break. Typelandia is also full of mystery and secrets to reveal. Unexpected things should be happening along the journey to the palace. The player has the feeling to be the Hero of the most mysterious adventure, a knight that has to fight spells and free his friends and the city from the enchantment.

With certified Educational Design, the game has funny themes and amazing challenges. You need to type and practice typing to overcome the obstacles to make your way through the city and reach the palace. The player has instant feedback on his progression and evaluation of his skills. The challenge is that you need to type right to get pass the levels. That motivates the player to play hard to learn better. Although it is a game; it has a way to develop seriousness.


Stories

The game is based on ten Disney’s stories.  The typing experiences are made of these stories and the players enjoy discovering new faces of the characters.  Kids feel like re-writing the stories of:

  • The little Mermaid
  • Snow White and the seven Dwarfs
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Pinocchio
  • Beauty and Beast

The rest of stories is to discover. The fun is on and the adventure is awaiting.

Challenges

Players have to face the challenges to make their way to the palace. They have to improve their typing speed, and the mastering of the keys map. For every challenge, the results are instantaneous and give the exact accuracy of the player. The actual result makes the players challenge their own level.

Features of the game

The game comes with customizable typing courses.  You can choose among over than ten courses designed to fit the players needs and levels. They offer to learn the Home Row separately, or combined with the Upper or Lower Row fit the age ranges of 7 to 8 or 9 to 10. They can be customized to target the skills building. You can choose between free Suggested typing courses or in game suggested typing courses. Also you can have the Numeric keypad lesson. At the end of the game, player get a certificate that is rewarding his progress and tells him about his improvement.
