Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Review

Blocking Exploit Attempt

In this Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit review we will explain the features of this great software  by  probably the best malware and virus protection software producer – Malwarebytes. This anti-exploit software has simple goal, to detect and repulse exploit attacks, and  do not need for prior knowledge of the exploit in question. As any anti-virus and anti-malware software, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit has two versions, free and paid.

Features and functionality

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit is a light software program with just 3MB. There's also no need for regular updates, like in the other similar software produced by other companies. A free edition, called Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Free, injects its protective DLL into popular browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera) and Java.

The Premium edition, on the other hand, extends this protection to Microsoft Office applications and to popular PDF readers and media players. On top of that, with the Premium edition, you can add custom shields for other programs, too.

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit wraps protected applications in three defensive layers.

The first layer of this patent-pending protection system watches for attempts to bypass OS security features, including Data Execution Prevention (DEP) and Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR).

The second layer watches the memory, in particular for any attempt to execute exploit code from memory.

The third layer blocks attacks on the protected application itself, including sandbox escapes and memory mitigation bypasses.

Additionally, with Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit you can enable or disable pre-determined shields, manage them and possibility for visual distinction in the tray bar icon, or visual distinction between pre-determined, custom and CLI shields. So, there are a lot of features that you can only take advantage off.

Visually, Anti-Exploit looks great. It is very simple, intuitive and graphically appealing.

Conclusion

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit doesn't spend bandwidth or slow down your computer on updates, and it takes up just 3MB on disk. It's a useful addition to your collection of security tools. You won't even know it's there, unless it blocks an exploit. For those who are mainly worried about Web-based attacks, the browser protection it offers may be enough. If you're also concerned about targeted attacks, or attacks coming via documents and PDFs, considering springing for Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium. This will enable you amazingly secure additional protection. The Premium version offers much broader, in-depth and customizable protection that can satisfy any business need and save you from even the most dangerous exploits.
