Zomi National Day held at NLD Headquaters





On 20th February, 63th anniversary of Zomi National Day organized by leaders from Zomi National Congress and Chin nationalities was held at the NLD headquarters at 4 p.m. U Gin Kam Lian from ZNC acted as a master of ceremony, when U Pu Chin Sian Thang expressed words of thanks and explained intention of the ceremony. On behalf of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who could not come to the ceremony due to her tight schedule, U Tin Oo, Vice Chairman of NLD made a short remarks emphasizing the importance of national unity for emergence of democratic nation and second Panglong conference which Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has been attempting to realize.


Then four surviving families of Chin leaders and General Aung San who had signed the Panglong Agreement were awarded ‘Independence Memorial Honor’. Leaders of NLD, CRPP members, ethnic leaders, leaders from political parties and 88 generation students’ leaders attended the ceremony. Zomi national youths entertained the attendees with traditional songs. A dinner was served to the guests who attended the ceremony.
