Greetings World.
We are Anonymous. On June 9 2011, Burma government forces broke a 17 year old ceasefire and attacked the Kachin Independence Army in Burma’s northern Kachin State. Since the Burmese violation of this ceasefire they have attacked not only the Kachin Independence Army, but also committed war crime after war crime against the Kachin people. From the time the Burmese broke the ceasefire up until today report after report comes out of Burmese soldiers, including high ranking officers, kidnapping, raping, gang raping, and killing Kachin women. From the start of the conflict until today report after report emerges of Kachin Civilians, including children, being kidnapped and tortured by the Burmese Army. From the start of the conflict until today report after report emerges of the Burmese army forcing children to serve as porters on the front lines of the conflict. From the start of the conflict until today report after report emerges of the Burmese army killing unarmed civilians, looting Kachin property, and forcibly and intentionally displacing civilians from their homes. There are now estimated to be over a hundred thousand Kachin people displaced from their homes, and living in camps far away from home, with aid often blocked by the Burmese army. Now much of Kachin state is occupied, and the Burmese Government has auctioned away their land and resources to government cronies, drug barons, and Chinese investors. The Jade rich Kachin state is under siege or under occupation, and military outposts have been created to allow the Burmese Government to flow oil and Gas into China. Yet, knowing the odds are against them the Kachin people do not surrender, but remain in the land of their birth, and the land of their history, fighting for the autonomy and self rule they were long ago promised while the world has ignored or forgets their suffering in exchange for resource rights.
To the Burmese Government, we will not forget the Kachin People, and we will not relent from pursuing you for as long as your assualt and war crimes continue. From the Media to the courts we will not relent until your crimes are accounted for and justice is served. To the world we ask you to join us by welcoming to the world a #FreeKachin
